Parris' Four Points for the week

Hello everyone! I'm sorry it has been awhile since my last post, I'll explain why in the first point of the day:

1. As many of you know, I started writing during March Madness because of my love for college basketball and the Kansas Jayhawks. After they lost in the Elite Eight to VCU, I had to take some time off to let the loss sink in before I started writing again. I have dealt with and accepted the loss and am already looking forward to next season. Even though the Morris Twins will be gone as well as Brady, Mario, Tyrel, and possibly Josh Selby, Bill Self always finds a way to stay in the Top Ten and compete for at least a Big 12 Championship. Enough about Kansas though, its time to talk other sports!

2. Now that its April and basketball is over, its time to talk Chicago Cubs baseball! The cubs have started 5-5, which is average so far but living by St. Louis, all we hear about here is the Cardinals, who have done horrible so far. The Cubs have a great young player in Starlin Castro, the shortstop who just turned 21 years old! I recently purchased a Castro t-shirt since I can no longer wear my Ryan Theriot t-shirt as he now plays for the Cardinals. I look forward to the rest of the season and here's to hoping the Cubs will the Cardinals.

3. Next up is something I haven't thought about or talked about in at least 6 or 7 years and that is NBA basketball. The reason I do care would be the Chicago Bulls! My favorite NBA team due to the all time greatest Michael Jordan, is in the playoffs as the best team in the best conference. Behind MVP leading candidate Derrick Rose, the Bulls have taken over the number one spot in the Eastern Conference and are playing strong heading into the playoffs that start next week. Although I believe the NBA season lasts way too long and not many people care about basketball right now, and who can blame them with the excitement of baseball starting, but I look forward to hopefully watching the Bulls do well in the playoffs.

4. I'd like to use my last point of the day to talk about my little brother David's friend, Dylan Burmester. He's a senior that goes to school with David and is an amazing athlete. A couple months ago he let me film him and I made a few youtube videos for him that showcased his ability to dunk the basketball despite being only 5'9". Two weeks ago I got a phone call from David telling me that Dylan had been invited to the National High School Dunk Contest at the Final Four in Houston! I couldn't believe it! Dylan told me that it was because he sent the videos I made for him in and they called him and asked him to come down. Although he didn't win the contest, he got something more important for his future and that is exposure. Being from such a small town, not many people know about him or his talent, but now his name is out there since he was on national television. Here's a link to a video of Dylan and my other brothers' friend Rutger Neece:

I'm going to try and make the 4 points shorter and more to the point, just about the sports topics you need to know from now on. Check back in and comment please! Thanks for reading.
